(a) SUBSTACK WELCOME POST
Title: What broke, what held, what it cost
Context: this is the welcome note for the field notes of Wi Works, written by Wi Hazumi, founder, 2026-08-15.
Thank you for coming. Here is exactly what you have signed up for, so you can leave now if it is not for you.
I run a workshop where AI agents do most of the labour, under written rules, at all hours. Not one assistant answering questions: a working household of them, with roles and permissions and a code they load before they touch anything. They work while I sleep. In the morning I read what they did, and I write down what happened.
These are those notes. What broke this week. What held. What it cost, in real money and real hours.
Three kinds of post will arrive.
Field notes. The week as it actually went, including the parts that make me look slow. There is a day in my ledger when four of my own jobs were stopped by my own rules before they could run. That day gets written up ahead of the smooth ones, because a system that never refuses has never been tested.
Methods small enough to steal. Whatever I have that is general: the checks, the frames, the ways of writing a rule so a machine and a person read it the same way. If it works only in my house, it is not ready to be a post. If it works in yours, take it, no credit needed.
Studies with their sources. Longer pieces where I have gone and measured something, or read everything published on a question and laid it out plainly. Including the results that went against what I believed before I started, which are the ones worth your time.
Every number here carries a plain tag: measured, worked out, not yet tried, or not known. That last tag will show up more often than is fashionable, and I would rather that than a confident sentence I cannot back. When a post is corrected later, it says so with the date, because a finding that never gets revised was never a finding.
The rhythm is weekly. When a week gives me nothing worth your attention, you will get a short note or nothing at all, rather than something manufactured to keep a streak alive. That promise costs me more than it costs you, which is how you know it is real.
One reason to stay, if you need one. This year, almost every organization you deal with will tell you it is using AI. Very few will tell you what it cost them, which part failed, or what they had to stop the machine from doing. That gap is the whole subject of this letter, and I am writing it from inside the operation rather than from the balcony above it.
If you would rather sample before you commit: the series opens with the day I got refused four times. Read that one, then decide.
One small thing you can do today. The next time somebody demonstrates their AI to you, ask them for the day it was wrong. The demonstration will be beautiful. Ask for the scrap page.

(b) LINKEDIN DEBUT POST (EN only, ~200 words)
For a year I told people that a hundred billion words had passed through my workshop. On 13 August I checked. It was 63 billion.
I corrected it the same evening, and the corrected figure is the one on our site, with a label beside it saying it came from me and has not yet been re-measured by anyone else.
That label is the reason Wi Works exists.
After ten years in brand and communications, I have spent more than 2,700 hours running a workshop where AI agents do most of the labour under written rules, at all hours. This week I started publishing the account books: what was spent, what broke, and the days my own rules refused my own work. There is one such day in the ledger: four jobs stopped before they could run, no files harmed, each refusal dated.
In 2026 almost every organization says it is using AI. Very few will show you the cost, the failures, or the refusals. I would like to be one of the few, and I would like company.
The charter, the numbers with their labels, and the first field notes are at wi.works.
If you keep books like this, I want to read yours.
[Production note for Wi: R0 measured that links placed in the body cost 50-70% of LinkedIn reach in 2026. Consider moving the wi.works link to the first comment and closing the post on the last line.]
(c) THREADS INTRO (VI-first, ~150 words)
For a year I told people 100 billion words had gone through my AI workshop. On 13 August I actually counted. 63 billion. Genuinely embarrassing.
I was not lying. Nobody had ever asked me to prove it, and a number nobody checks grows in the telling. Fixed it that night. It now sits on my site with a label saying where it came from and that nobody has re-measured it.
The house is open now, books and all, including the day my own system refused four of my own jobs.
Honest question: have you ever asked your AI about the day it was wrong?
